The Course
This course is established and supported by the programme of “Environmental sustainability education program for the NSW construction industry”. This project has been assisted by the NSW Government through its Environmental Trust to the University of Canberra. The research team is led by Dr. Larry Xiancun Hu, School of Design and the Built Environment, Faculty of Arts & Design, University of Canberra.
The construction industry is one of the world’s largest contributors to environmental challenges, including high energy consumption, carbon emissions, and resource depletion. This course, Green Construction: Building a Sustainable Future, aims to address these issues by exploring innovative strategies and practices designed to create more sustainable buildings and infrastructures.
What you will learn
Participants will gain practical knowledge on how to reduce environmental impacts at all stages of construction. Through hands-on learning and research-driven insights, we will explore green building management, energy efficiency, waste control, and the use of low-carbon, recyclable materials. The course also covers legal frameworks and policies that govern sustainable construction practices, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
By the end of this course, participants will not only understand the significance of sustainability in construction but also be equipped with the tools and strategies to implement green practices on their projects.
